Fencing
FAQ
What do I
need to consider before proceeding with a fencing project?
In order to do your project first you must decide which type of fencing you'd
like to have installed and the approximate location of each run of fencing and
any gates. If you do not have an existing fence, surveying of the property and
permits may be needed. We request that you have
a plat available for us when we come to give you an estimate.
What types of fencing do you install?
We install all types of fencing--wood, metal and vinyl. As for styles of fencing
we have done a wide variety of styles, including privacy fences, pool fences,
horse fencing, split cedar fences and more.
Can you compare the various fencing materials you have available?
There are alot of materials available and many styles of fence using each
material. Often it comes down to the style and looks of each fencing type
when the homeowner or business has a choice, sometimes it comes down to
functionality, and still other times the homeowner needs to choose based
on HOA rules.

How do I choose the style of fence I want to suite my needs and budget?
We offer almost any type of fencing you would want for your home. So the
choices are there, after that it comes down to what you're trying to
accomplish with your fence, the budget and aesthetics you had in mind.
In some cases, a home owners or condominium association may dictate
what you can and cannot install. There are special considerations when
installing pool fencing. For example in Montgomery County Maryland,
a pool fence must be 5 Feet high. We can help you sort through your
options and find the best fencing for your property.

What is a plat?
According to WikiPedia: "A plat is
a map, drawn to scale, showing how a piece of land is divided into lots with
streets and alleys, usually for the purpose of selling the described lots; this
is known as subdivision. After a plat is filed, legal descriptions can refer
to lot numbers rather than portions of sections. Plats can also legally dedicate
land for road and other rights-of-way." Often
plats are given to the owner of a new property at settlement. See
an example plat by clicking here.
